| Steam pouring out from under Laura's bonnet. |
I drove my little green car (with white daisy stickers all over it) - Laura Green - across town and up a hill to a vantage point that looks out across my patch.
I pulled Laura over and parked up only to see smoke/steam pouring out from under the bonnet. I couldn't decide if it was on fire or just overheating...
I reasoned that if the car was on fire, I'd need to get my camera kit out of the car anyway...so I might as well take my photos. If the exudate was steam, taking photos would allow the engine time to cool down. I took some landscapes across the rooftops of the town and by the time I'd finished, the steam had abated. I filled Laura up with water and headed home.
The other location I wanted to take pictures at is only round the corner from my house and there had been some amazing rain recently so I really wanted to visit the locale. "Oh blow it!" I thought as I headed toward the fields.
I parked up and promptly disappeared into a puff of steam. Several vehicles passed by but none stopped to see if I was OK! I set up the tripod and camera, captured my shots, filled the car up and headed home.
It transpires the radiator fan is not coming on, Mr Fink tells me, so he has cobbled a solution which I'm sure involves gaffer tape, wire coat hangers and chewing gum so that I can get to work and back this week. I've been car hunting in the meantime so it looks like it could be the end of Laura Green. <sob sob>
