They (the 12 young people on the course) have been given PPE (that's 'protective uniforms' to you and me), they've been learning drill, checking out breathing apparatus and feeling the weight of the car cutting gear.
Apparently in the coming weeks they will be using the breathing apparatus, cutting up cars and hopefully attending a passing out parade.
What a great course, well done to our local fire station and to Nelly's school for this great incentive.
