The last word on Hallowe'en

When I put Little Fink's pumpkin in the window, I faced it so the scary face could be seen from outside. It meant it looked a bit boring from indoors, so I decided to carve something else on the other side.
I set to with pen and sharp knife and ended up with (I thought), a pretty good rendition of a witches cat sitting on a full moon. I lit the candles and placed it back in the window.
When Mrs Fink's dad brought Little Fink back from horse riding, he commented on the pumpkin in the window,
"That's lovely Little Fink, you've carved that really well for someone of your age", (not known for his tact, my dad).
Bloody cheek, he was talking about the cat I had done!
