I tied it to my wrist on the 23rd June 2019 and promised never to drink alcohol again.
It was a daily reminder not to continue to be the person I had become, to stop being selfish and to break the cycle of relying on alcohol to escape.
I'm still too embarrassed to share what happened to make me realise my drinking was out of control.
Today the braid broke and slipped to the floor, 311 days since my last drink.
