Crassmas Take Two - almost

Yo! Sushi, York
At the weekend, Mr Fink, Nelly and I went North to visit The Foggs (see the  Fogg Blog for their globe trotting adventures). Usually we celebrate Christmas Take Two (CTT) at this time of year, we get the tree out and decorate it, have a scrummy xmas lunch, exchange gifts and one or twice had a live Queen's speech! This year however, the Caddyfrogs (lovely couple - mad as a box of frogs mind you) were unwell and couldn't come, Marsha couldn't make it due to starting a new job in the local CORNISH PASTY SHOP - how awesome.... so we decided to have a scaled down version of CTT.

We arrived on Friday night to the great unveiling of the new Fogg kitchen - very swanky - not a lettuce leaf in sight - meat only! The next day we exchanged gifts and went on a shopping trip to the York Outlet centre. What a lovely place. Nelly bought some kit for her up and coming trip to Japan with the Foggs and i bought a 'build your own' mini metal millenium falcon! Then back to Fogg HQ for Xmas dinner - the biggest turkey you've ever seen and enough bacon wrapped sozzies to sink a battleship! Replete with sprouts we charged our glasses and headed for the comfy seats for the obligatory Xmas afternoon film, flake-out and flatulence (Mr Fogg wins hands down).

On Sunday we took a trip into York - my favourite city - and wombled about for a bit, then we mooched for a bit more - then we went to Yo! Sushi, a sushi bar where you sit next to a little conveyor belt with dishes of sushi, sashimi and the like trundling across the counter in front of you. If you like the look of something, take the dish and nom! Of the 43 dishes we managed to get through my favourites were the Beef Tataki (black pepper seared beef with coriander dressing) and Crispy Salmon Skin Iso. Mr Fink liked the Chicken Teriyaki and the Scallop Katsu. Nelly also tested the desserts, Strawberry Cheesecake Mochi and Chocolate Mochi.
I had a brilliant time - I highly recommend Yo! Sushi - if you see one, go in, the staff are friendly and will explain the concept (they are SO helpful, they even sat a pregnant customer near the chef so the chef could advise what the lady should and should not eat!).

After thanking our great hosts for another amazing weekend we headed home to find Mr and Mrs Glum had not only fed our cat but hung up the wet washing, emptied and refilled the dishwasher and put my car in the garage.

This morning when I opened the garage door I saw how nice and straight Bambi (Mr Glum) had parked my car. I park it front end in, as far over to the left as it will go, to allow me to extricate my 'full figure' from the vehicle. Mr Glum (Bambi) is a slim bean and had parked the car beautifully except...I can't open the door wide enough to get in! (He's returning tonight to move it!)

You couldn't make it up!
