Summer Revels 2014

Well. What a day!
Blistering sunshine at Verulamium Park on Sunday. Family and friends travelled from York (The Foggs), Cambridgeshire. .. my cousin Dodgy Dave and his young, vibrant family Including my Aunty Peg and Ron (who scores a mean rounder).
Bedfordshire...Mr Finks sister and her lovely entourage including Danny Boxer and LemurCam.
North Herts/ Bucks border. Mr Fink's dad and his wife. My father in law was doing wonderfully well to be up and walking just 4 weeks after a hip replacement. Woogie (Mr Fink's brudder) and his 2 adoreable boys. Not forgetting the gorgeous Zobot and her ever smiling mum.
Shouty Grandad, Nanny, Marsha, Terika and Nelly from more local environs.

We started off with a 2 hour picnic which included fresh brewed tea.
Eventually we engaged in a game of rounders with fluid teams...meaning players had a bat if they fancied a bat and did a bit of fielding if they were tired! Some awesome catches and really big hits, including almost braining a lady from a not very nearby family by Slogger George. The little ones joined in too and there was some top notch running and fielding from them.

After another break for cake and tea we had sack races..the funniest one was where everyone put the sacks on their heads and ran up the field.
Lastly, potato and spoon races...less messy than eggs!

We were also entertained my a springer spaniel parading around the park with a dead hare in it's mouth and a strange man sprinting from his coat on the floor to a tree and back??

All in all about 40 of our friends and family were able to join us and it is they that make the day special.

Thank you all so much. I love you xxx.

PS The winners are Blin's Team!
