Four and Twenty Blackbirds...

For the last 2 weeks I have been trying to trap a magpie at work which had become imprisoned in the netting covered quad. He had plenty to eat and drink so it became a battle of will to entice him into the trap.
All day Friday he teased me by walking into the trap, pecking about then flying off. Friday night I closed the trap down and went home.
Saturday morning I headed to work, set the trap at 9am, got on with my work, when I finished for the day, i checked the trap - YEEEHAAAAA, I caught me a magpie!

I was elated, the bird was twisting and turning and getting in a right old pickle so I walked the trap through the empty hospital and out into the car park where as soon as I opened the trap door, he flew off.

My 'Countryfile' head tells me he might not survive because other magpies gang up on and mob any of their own kind which are weaker than them but my 'St Francis of Assisi' head tells me he'll be fine.

The only trouble is, I now notice every single magpie, I feel like I'm being stalked by them!
