Yes, I know it looks like the bucket your mum used to boil nappies in...but it's not.
It is my new hobby, I hope to become a vintner (wine maker).
Mr Fink, sensitive to the need to keep me busy and occupied, gave me a wine making kit for Christmas and now that my crayfish activities have waned, I've decided to take up fermenting.
I've done the research, sterilized everything, mixed the grape concentrate, water and the wine yeast. Now to sit back and let nature do it's thing. the fermentation stage should get into full swing in a couple of days - if I've got the temperature of the room right.
My only worry is that I'm brewing this in the spare bedroom, if it explodes (if you believe the anecdotes, this happens frequently) we're going to have to redecorate!
Right, off to purchase a thermometer, hydrometer and extra long plastic stirring spoon off Ebay (I decided not to use the long stick we use to clean out the rat cage, after all).
