Last night I went out to the pictures with some of my girlfriends. We went to see Sex and the City. Now I've seen probably 5 or 6 episodes of the TV series, enough to know I could watch it if there was nothing else on, but not religiously like Dexter or Doctor Who.
What was the film like - it was brilliant - it was so good that I have been remembering bits of it all day. For a film which is about self obsessed air heads played by self obsessed air heads it is really good. without giving the game away i can say that all four ladies were believable, like able and the characters were allowed to not take themselves too seriously. I laughed out loud at this film, I applauded when one of the ladies stood up for herself and I felt the pain as one was going through a break up. I was very surprised that they were as good as they were.
In the end I respected Carrie. Praised Sam for being brave and honest. Loved Charlotte like you would a younger sister and wanted to be Miranda (especially in that last scene - whooo weeee yessir.) strong enough to carry on.
Girls, grab your girlfriends, go see this film. It won't matter if you've never seen the TV series, they give you enough background to start you off. (Leave the men at home, they'll only cramp your style and block your view of the hot bod of Dante. Rowr!
